How much harder is Year 5 NAPLAN compared to Year 3?
Significantly harder. Year 5 introduces persuasive writing, longer reading passages with implied meaning, and more complex grammar conventions (apostrophes, commas, quotation marks). Students need to think critically — not just recall facts.
What writing type does Year 5 NAPLAN require?
Year 5 students are given a writing prompt that could be narrative (telling a story) or persuasive (arguing a point). We prepare students for both text types in every program so they're ready regardless of what appears on the day.
How soon will I see improvement?
